Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) decided to sack Australian batsman David Warner as their skipper and named Kane Williamson as their new captain for the rest of the matches in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2021).

While a lot of people in the cricket fraternity found this to be a good move, former England skipper Nasser Hussain called the removal of Warner as captain a ‘big decision’.

IPL 2021: Simon Doull suggests the reason behind David Warner's sacking as SRH captain

Hopefully, it impacts them in a positive way. That's why they have made this choice. It's almost like a team that needs a reboot sitting at the bottom of the table. It is a big decision because he is Mr. Sunrisers, Hussain told Star Sports.

He has been a huge reason why SRH have had so much success over the years. He’s led them to glory and he's played well at the top of the order,” he added.

The explosive left-hand batsman has not been at his best this season as even though Warner has scored two half-centuries this season, his strike rate at the top is strike rate of 110.2, which is a  bit of a concern for SRH.

IPL 2021: Ajay Jadeja says picking Williamson over Warner as SRH skipper is a 'no brainer'

He is out of form this season. He may be the second highest run-getter but batting at the top with a strike rate of 110, he himself admitted in that last game that he cost them the game. But make no mistake, this is a massive move to change from one overseas captain to another doesn't really change a lot,” the 53-year-old explained.

SRH are scheduled to take on Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Sunday (2 May) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Thus, it will be exciting to watch if the change in leadership changes the fortunes of the ‘Orange Army’.
