IPL 2021: IPL experience invaluable for T20 World Cup, says RCB's Kyle Jamieson

Jamieson delivered crucial overs as RCB won over DC by 1 run.

Kyle Jamieson celebrates the fall of Shikhar Dhawan | BCCI/IPLVirat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) had a really close game against last year’s finalists Delhi Capitals (DC) in match 22 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) as the former won by 1 run.

RCB all-rounder Kyle Jamieson who bowled exceptionally well in the death overs on Tuesday (27 April) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad feels that this IPL experience will help him immensely for the T20 World Cup which is supposed to be held in India later this year.

Absolutely, any experience you can have in this part of the world before the World Cup is valuable. I am not getting carried away, you still have to earn the right to be selected in the T20 World Cup squad. I am trying to soak up as much as I can, I am trying to learn,” Jamieson said.

The first five-six games we have played, there have been fresh learnings each time. You gain bits and pieces each time you play, being exposed to pressure situations always helps you,” he added.

The right-arm quick then talked about their 1-run win as he said, “It has been good, it has been an eye-opener. I have loved every second of it, pretty fortunate to gain an experience, and yeah, long may that continue.

Maybe not one run, but that's sort of T20 cricket, you cannot take it for granted. The run rate was never at that stage where it was out of reach against the caliber of Pant and Shimron Hetmyer. It was all down to how we execute,” the 26-year-old added.

After the win over DC, Virat Kohli and Co. will now be taking on Punjab Kings on Friday (30 April) at the same venue in Ahmedabad.
