Australia pacer Pat Cummins, who is currently participating in the ongoing IPL 2021 for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), donated $ 50,000 to the PM Cares Fund for procuring oxygen and other supplies as India fights a war with the second wave of the COVID-19 virus.

India has seen over 3,00,000 plus cases a day for the past week and over 1,000 deaths per day as the mutant COVID-19 strain is wreaking havoc in the country.

Even the IPL 2021 has not been untouched by the panic and anxiety as four overseas players in Kane Richardson, Liam Livingstone, Adam Zampa, and Andrew Tye decided to leave the tournament mid-way and return home. Even R Ashwin decided to take a break from the tournament and get back with his family.

Cummins posted a statement on his Twitter account in which he revealed that he has started an initiative by donating $50,000. He even encourages his fellow IPL players to join him in this kind deed and contribute as much as possible.

This great gesture from a true gentleman of the game in Pat Cummins led to the cricket fraternity from all over the world praising his initiative on Twitter.
