MS Dhoni is widely considered to be one of the greatest cricketing minds of the modern era and his uncanny ability to plot dismissals of batsmen from behind the stumps have helped all the bowlers who have played with him, be it in the Indian team or in Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL.
In a recent IPL 2021 match between CSK and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), the Virat Kohli-led team was in trouble chasing a tough 192-run target set by Dhoni and his men.
Glen Maxwell was looking ominous scoring 22 runs in quick time and Dhoni brought on Jadeja who was having a gala time on that match. Jadeja had first scored a belligerent 62* in 28 balls with 5 sixes, all of which came in the 20th over of CSK innings bowled by Harshal Patel, who conceded a record 37 runs in that over.

Jadeja had dismissed Washington Sundar and Dhoni felt like he could get Maxwell out as well. When the Big Show was on strike, Dhoni was heard saying something important to Jadeja.
Dhoni told Jadeja to bowl on stumps of just inside the stumps as Maxwell liked to hit the inside-out shot. Maxwell then drilled the ball to covers. Dhoni further encouraged Jadeja saying “Maarne de, soch ke maar mat khana (Translation: Let him hit, don’t be afraid of getting hit).”
Jadeja did the same and disturbed Maxwell’s furniture, and then also got rid of AB de Villiers, ending the match with figures of 3/13 and earning a well-deserved Man of the Match award.
