Chennai Super Kings (CSK) acknowledged the effort of Imran Tahir, who played his first match in the IPL 2021 against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Sunday (April 25). The condition at Mumbai in a day game is draining and Tahir gave his best on the field despite observing fast.

The leggie picked 2 for 16 and also ran Kyle Jamieson out with an impressive direct hit. CSK posted a tweet and lauded Tahir for his dedication on the field.

"No words to express our #Yellove for you Imran Bhai! Fasting and on duty with so much dedication. Respect ????????," they wrote on Twitter.

After the match, Ravindra Jadeja had asked Tahir about his fitness at the age of 42. To which, he replied that playing competitive cricket requires the best version of a cricketer on the field and he focuses on it.

It was Jadeja who gave an all-round performance to snatch the number one spot in the points table from RCB as CSK won the match by 69 runs.

Batting first, Super Kings scored 191 runs in 20 overs and Jadeja smashed 28-ball 62* runs, including a 37-run over off Harshal Patel. Jadeja later picked up three wickets and was involved in a run-out as well.
