Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was at his best against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Sunday (April 25). He scored 62* runs with the bat but more importantly dismissed Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers with the ball to leave RCB hopeless.
Jadeja, who bagged three wickets for 13 runs, talked about his bowling with Imran Tahir in a video for IPL's official website. The left-arm orthodox spinner said when the pitch assists him he tries to bowl on the stumps.
As per Jadeja, bowling on the stumps on a surface helping spinners opens up different modes of dismissals. "I look to bowl wicket to wicket if the surface is offering any assistance to the bowler. Because if the ball turns, the batsmen can get out caught behind or stumped and if the ball doesn't turn the batsmen could get trapped in front of the stumps or he can also get bowled," Jadeja said.

"So I always target the wicket when I am bowling as it leaves many options open for me to dismiss the batsman," the all-rounder added.
Before the bowling performance, it was Jadeja's onslaught on Harshal Patel which put CSK ahead in the game. He smashed 37 runs in the last over of CSK's innings and hit Patel for five sixes and a four in the over.
"I was really tired when the last over began as I had run many doubles. I told Mahi Bhai (MS Dhoni) that I will try and slog as many balls as possible because I was really tired and not to forget the humidity here," said Jadeja.
"My plan was to slog the ball in the last over but I didn't think about whacking five sixes. So I am really happy as it also helped the team in winning the game," he added.
CSK are currently at the top of the points table with four wins in five matches. They will now move to Delhi for the upcoming games after completing five matches at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
