IPL 2021: Cricket fraternity reacts as Ravindra Jadeja routs RCB single-handedly as CSK win by 69 runs

Jadeja scored 62* in 28 balls and picked 3/31 and affected a run out.

Ravindra Jadeja first hit 62* in 28 balls with 4 fours and 5 sixes to his name to bolster CSK’s total to 191/4 in 20 overs. This after Faf du Plessis (50) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (33) added 74 runs for the first wicket. However, Harshal Patel picked three wickets to halt CSK’s progress in the innings.

But fate brought Harshal and Jadeja face to face and it resulted in Jadeja taking Harshal, who holds the purple cap to cleaners in the 20th over of CSK innings. Five fours, one six were hit in that over as Harshal gave away the joint-most runs in one over in IPL history-37.

Devdutt Padikkal made 34 in quick-time | BCCI-IPLBut this was not enough for Sir Jadeja, as he then came to haunt RCB. After a small whirlwind 15-ball 34 by Devdutt Padikkal, Jadeja came into action to remove Washington Sundar, AB de Villiers, and Glenn Maxwell.

Maxwell looked dangerous having scored a quick 22 before Jadeja bowled him. Then Jadeja also ran Dan Christian out to snuff whatever hope RCB had of a comeback.

Jadeja ended with 3/13 in 4 overs, while Imran Tahir picked 2/16 in his four. Sam Curran and Shardul Thakur picked one wicket each as RCB only managed 122/9 in 20 overs and lost their first match in IPL 2021 by 69 runs.

With this win, CSK moved to the top of the points table, while RCB slipped to the second spot.

The cricket fraternity was all praises for Ravindra Jadeja’s virtual one-man show and lauded him on Twitter.
