Rajasthan Royals (RR) came back after suffering a 10-wicket loss against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) as they registered a comfortable 6-wicket win over two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in match 18 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2021).
The Royals tweaked their batting order a little bit with the addition of youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal who played a handy knock of 22 runs off 17 deliveries which included 5 boundaries after losing opener Jos Buttler early.
While talking about getting to play against KKR, Jaiswal said, “It was a great feeling when I went out to bat, I had heard that I was going to play against KKR. I just wanted to give my best and I just wanted to play for the team and help the side win.”
When asked about playing at the Wankhede Stadium, the Mumbai-based batsman replied by saying, “It is pretty good to be playing at Wankhede because this is my home ground, I am really happy about this.”
Even though the 19-year-old did not have the greatest of starts to the match as he dropped a catch while fielding, he was really happy as his whole team motivated him.
“Actually, when I dropped the catch, I thought it's okay because I worked really hard in the practice, I work really hard on my fielding, people can drop catches, everyone was telling me that it will be okay and everyone was motivating me. Sometimes it happens, everyone was cheering me up and it did motivate me. It was pretty good for me,” the southpaw said.
After the win over KKR, Sanju Samson and Co. will be seen in action on Thursday (29 April) as they take on the defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
