After suffering a 10-wicket loss against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Rajasthan Royals (RR) came back strongly as they registered a six-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in match 18 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2021).
It was a complete team effort as the Royals restricted KKR to 133 runs in their quota of 20 overs and chased down the target with 7 balls to spare. The partnership between skipper Sanju Samson and David Miller who scored 42* and 24* respectively took their team over the line.
“The body gave in towards the back end, but it was nice to finish off the match well. Sanju batted extremely well, he actually did in the first game, showed what he got, was a good team performance, nice and clinical,” Miller said in the broadcasters Star Sports.
When asked about the left-hand explosive batsman coming out to bat at no. 6, he said, “In T20 cricket, everything happens rather fast, it was a tactical decision (batting down the order), and came off well tonight. The key is to finish off games.”
IPL 2021: "Responsibility for us to put up the entertainment for people ," says Chris Morris
“Tewatia is a local and he plays the spinners well, brings out the sweeps and reverse sweeps hence he batted ahead. I will not mind batting anywhere, just want to help the team win,” he added.
With this win over KKR, the Rajasthan-based franchise moved up to sixth place on the points table as they prepare to take on defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) on Thursday (April 29) at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
