IPL 2021: Cricket fraternity reacts as Chris Morris, Sanju Samson end RR’s losing streak with 6-wicket win over KKR

RR chased down KKR's 133/9 with 7 balls to spare.

Sanju Samson played an unbeaten knock of 42 | BCCI/IPLRajasthan Royals (RR) faced Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 18th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Saturday (April 24).

Asked to bat first, KKR posted a below-par 133/9 in 20 overs. It was a listless batting performance as Rahul Tripathi was the top scorer with 26-ball 36.

For RR, Chris Morris was the stand-out bowler, claiming 4 wickets by conceding 23 runs in his four overs.

In reply, the Royals rode on skipper Sanju Samson’s unbeaten 42 off 41 balls to overhaul the target with 6 wickets in hand and 7 deliveries to spare. David Miller (24* off 23 balls), Yashasvi Jaiswal (22 off 17 balls) and Shivam Dube (22 off 18 balls) also chipped with handy contributions.

Varun Chakravarthy (2-32) took two wickets for KKR while Shivam Mavi returned with the impressive figures of 1 for 19 in his four overs.

Cricket fraternity lauded Rajasthan Royals for their clinical outing, which gave them their second win in the fifth game this season.
