IPL 2021: WATCH - Sunrisers Hyderabad players urge fans to stay at home amid huge surge in COVID-19 cases

India has reported over three lakh cases for three consecutive days.

India has been badly hit by the second wave of COVID-19 and the country is seeing a rapid increase in the number of cases. Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) players have urged people to look after themselves and stay at home.

SRH shared a video on social media which featured Manish Pandey, Vijay Shankar, Jason Holder, Jonny Bairstow, Kane Williamson, and skipper David Warner. 

"Hey, Orange Army we are looking at the second wave of Covid-19", Pandey in the video. "It's growing at an alarming speed, we hope everyone is staying home and staying safe," Bairstow said and it is followed by Holder, who added, "Our thoughts are with you while we stay away from home."

Shankar called the fans their strength and said, "You the Orange Army are our strength. You are the wind beneath our wings", Warner completed the message and said, "And together we will come out of this stronger."

India recorded 3,46,786 new coronavirus cases in 24 hours on Saturday (April 24). It was the third consecutive day that the country crossed 3 lakh cases.

As per the official data of the Union Health Ministry, India has recorded 2,624 new deaths due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.
