All-rounder Akshar Patel on Thursday (April 22) made his much-awaited return to Delhi Capitals’ (DC) bio-bubble after returning negative for COVID-19.
Delighted by his return, Akshar’s Indian Premier League (IPL) teammates and support staff gave him a rousing welcome inside the hotel in Chennai.
Taking to Twitter, DC shared a video of the same with the caption: “Smiles and hugs all around as Bapu returned to the DC camp. Oh, how we missed you, @akshar2026 P.S. Kya challlaaaaa?”
In the video, Akshar can be heard saying “just looking at people is making me happy”, referring to the severe quarantine period he had to serve after testing positive for the dreadful virus.
Since his beard and hair were not in shape, Akshar also asked for a barber in the team hotel.
Notably, Akshar Patel was diagnosed COVID-19 positive on April 3. Delhi Capitals have named Shams Mulani as his short-term COVID-19 replacement.
In the meantime, Akshar missed four games for the Capitals, who are occupying the third position in the points table with three wins and a defeat.
