Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batsman Suresh Raina lauded skipper MS Dhoni for his 150th dismissal in IPL against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in an IPL 2021 encounter.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 18 runs in their fourth match of IPL 14 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
Invited to bat CSK on account of 115 runs opening partnership between Ruturaj Gaikwad (64) and Faf du Plessis (95*) and brutal finish by Moeen Ali and MS Dhoni posted a mammoth total of 220 runs.
Defending the target CSK bowlers were all over the KKR batsmen as they reduced them to 31/5 inside the mandatory 6 over power-play. However, brutal half-centuries by Andre Russell and Pat Cummins and fiery 40 runs by Dinesh Karthik gave hope to KKR fans.
But in the end, it was a little too much for the trio to do, with no support from the top five and not a single run contributed by the tail as they lost the match by 18 runs.
During the course of the match, CSK skipper MS Dhoni completed his 150th IPL dismissal after he completed a running catch of KKR’s opener Nitish Rana off Deepak Chahar’s bowling.
Addressing the same, CSK batsman Suresh Raina took to his official Twitter account and praised MS Dhoni for his 150th IPL dismissal.
“150 dismissals in IPL, another Great Feat! Keep Inspiring all of us, Thala! @msdhoni,” Suresh Raina Tweeted.
With this victory over KKR, MS Dhoni-led side are now placed at the top of the points table. They will next face Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on 25th April at Mumbai.
