The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) finally got their first win of this year’s edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) against Punjab Kings (PBKS), thanks to Jonny Bairstow’s unbeaten 63 off 56 deliveries that ensured they went over the line this time around.
Bairstow was really pleased as the side registered a 9-wicket win with 8 balls to spare and end SRH’s three-match losing streak.
“Absolutely over the moon to get us over the line. Been really close in most of the games, and haven't got through. Probably through carelessness to be honest. Pleased to get over the line,” he said in the post-match presentation ceremony.

The Hyderabad-based franchise has had good starts but lost the games in the middle overs where their middle order had failed on several occasions, but the addition of Kane Williamson proved to be a great move.
“Each game we've seen after the powerplay it's gotten harder and harder. It was key to make sure we took advantage (of the powerplay). I don't really need to talk about how good Kane is. That one Moises dropped at covers, to time it like that and not get four,” Bairstow added.
After losing skipper David Warner, the Englishman found a great batting partner in Williamson as their duo saw their team home. The Orange Army will now be taking on Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals at MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday (25 April).
