Former West Indies skipper Brian Lara while talking on the Star Sports show stated that he is looking forward to seeing a team that will challenge the five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2021).
“I am looking forward to a team to challenge Mumbai Indians. Mumbai Indians are of course a great little outfit and a great team. They have had their players for quite some time, so the stability is very good. So, I want to see one of the other teams to truly challenge them in this year’s 2021 IPL,” Lara said.

Even though there have been a lot of exciting games already in this edition of the tournament, the southpaw picked the match between MI and two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as his favourite match.
KKR were in complete winning position as they were chasing a target of 151 as at one point they needed 31 runs off last 5 overs.
“This year there have been quite a few games. The tournament is not that old but to think of – KKR falling apart in their second game – to lose, after being in such a great position, it’s pretty disappointing,” the 51-year-old said.

When asked about the batsman who resembles him the most, the West Indian replied by saying, “I would say Darren Bravo. When he is in form, he looks really good. So, yeah, from the same village. He is also family, so I can see why some of his shots resembled some of mine when I was playing.”
The Mumbai-based franchise failed to defend their total of 37 runs against Delhi Capitals (DC) and will be taking on KL Rahul’s Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Sunday (23 April) in Chennai.
