MS Dhoni's parents test positive for COVID-19; hospitalized in Ranchi

According to an update provided by the hospital, the oxygen levels of Dhoni's parents is stable.

While the former India skipper MS Dhoni is leading his side Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2021), his parents have tested positive for COVID-19 and are admitted to a hospital.

The Pulse Superspeciality Hospital where Dhoni’s parents are admitted provided an update as it said, “Parents of cricketer MS Dhoni have been admitted here at the hospital after testing positive for #COVID19. Their oxygen level is stable.

The former India wicket-keeper batsman is currently in Mumbai where CSK has set up their base. They are scheduled to play two more games at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai after which the side will move to Delhi for the next leg.

CSK has two wins to their name against Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) in three matches played with their only loss coming against newly-appointed skipper Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals.

MS Dhoni and Co. will be in action tonight (21 April) as they take on two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Mumbai.

As the number of COVID-19 cases is rising again, the Jharkhand government has imposed a state-wide lockdown from 22 April to 29 April with some exemptions.

During the lockdown, essential services will continue. Religious places will remain open but a gathering of devotees will not be allowed. According to the state government's order, agricultural, construction, industrial, and mining activities will be permitted during the lockdown.
