After losing all-rounder Akshar Patel and South African pacer Anrich Nortje as they tested positive for COVID-19, but a huge plus for Delhi Capitals (DC) has come in Ishant Sharma being cleared fit to play in the remaining matches of IPL 2019.
While talking to ANI, a source in DC camp had revealed that the Indian pacer who even though is struggling with a heel niggle, is fit to take the field for his franchise.
“He was struggling with a heel niggle, but he is good to go now. Had to take it slow and easy as we have a long road ahead of us and he is an integral part of the bowling attack,” the source explained.
The Delhi-based franchise will be high in confidence after their win against KL Rahul’s Punjab Kings (PBKS) where they chased down the mammoth target of 196 runs and handed PBKS a 6-wicket loss at Wankhede Stadium.
IPL 2021: Match 13, DC v MI- COC Predicted Playing XIs
Even though DC pacers have not been in their top form, their batting unit is performing really well, Shikhar Dhawan is one key element in that unit as he played a match-winning knock of 92 runs in just 49 deliveries that took the game away from PBKS.
While talking about playing against defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) on Tuesday (20 April) at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, where the five-time champions have played 3 games, Dhawan said that he will play with a positive mindset.
“MI has played 2-3 three over there before so they know the conditions, for us the challenge will be to switch on mentally according to the wicket and prepare our plan and just go and implement it and play with a positive mindset, aggression and look to win the game,” the southpaw said in a video posted by DC on Twitter.
