Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batsman AB de Villiers was at his best against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Sunday (April 18). He brutalized the KKR bowling attack and scored an unbeaten 34-ball 76.
One of the victims from De Villiers' destructive batting was Andre Russell, who was asked to bowl in the death overs. He got hit for 17 runs in his first over and 21 runs in the second over, which was also RCB's last over of the innings.
Russell was unhappy with his bowling performance and the all-rounder was so upset that he even let a run-out go off the fifth delivery in 20th over.
He surprisingly allowed RCB’s Kyle Jamieson to enter the crease after De Villiers hit the ball right back at him and the former was way outside his crease. Even RCB captain Virat Kohli was surprised by the incident.
Eventually, Bangalore scored 204/4 and in reply, KKR were restricted to 166/8. The Kohli-led side won the match by 38 runs to sit comfortably on top of the table. They are currently undefeated after three games.
