Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) faced each other in the 8th match of IPL 2021 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Friday (April 16).
Opting to bowl first, CSK restricted PBKS to a paltry 106/8 in 20 overs on the back of seamer Deepak Chahar’s outstanding bowling performance (4-1-13-4).

It was a listless batting performance from Punjab as none of them except for Shahrukh Khan (47 off 36 balls) managed to touch the 20-run mark.
In reply, CSK rode on Moeen Ali’s 31-ball 46 and Faf du Plessis’ unbeaten 36 off 33 balls to overhaul the target with 6 wickets in hand and 26 balls to spare.
Mohammad Shami was the pick of the bowlers for PBKS, claiming 2 wickets by conceding 21 runs in his four overs.
Cricket fraternity lauded CSK’s clinical performance, which gave them their first victory of this season.
