IPL 2021: WATCH – MS Dhoni remains unmoved as Deepak Chahar makes DRS plea for LBW decision

Chahar returned with the figures of 4/13 in his four overs as CSK restricted PBKS to 106/8.

Dhoni ignored Chahar's plea | BCCI/IPLPacer Deepak Chahar put on a show with the ball as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) restricted Punjab Kings (PBKS) to a paltry 106/8 in the 8th game of IPL 2021 at the Wankhede Stadium on Friday (April 16).

CSK skipper MS Dhoni won the toss and opted to bowl first and Chahar proved his captain right by demolishing Punjab’s top-order. He removed Mayank Agarwal (0), Chris Gayle (10), Deepak Hooda (10) and Nicholas Pooran (0) in quick succession to reduced PBKS to 26/5.

During the 5th over of Punjab’s innings, Chahar got rid of Gayle, Pooran and he was convinced to have dismissed Shahrukh Khan in the same over as well.

Deepak Chahar bowled a length delivery which swung in and beat the inside edge of Shahrukh, hitting him around the knee roll and that got the seamer excited as he made DRS plea for an LBW decision.

However, Dhoni acted like a responsible captain and decided against it. The CSK captain also asked Chahar to go back and finish the over.

Later, the replay suggested that the impact seemed to be just outside off and the review would have been wasted on this occasion.

Here’s the video:

Deepak Chahar eventually returned with the figures of 4 for 13 in his four overs, which also included a maiden over. It was his best bowling performance in the T20 league.
