Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) new buy Glenn Maxwell isn't letting down his franchise with the bat this season. He smashed his first IPL half-century in five years against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). 

Maxwell, who was bought by RCB for INR 14.25 crore, has not disappointed the fans this season with the bat so far. On Wednesday (April 15), when other RCB batters were struggling to get runs, Maxwell held one end and took them to a fighting score of 149/8.

Last year, the 32-year-old had a horror season with the bat for Punjab Kings (then Kings XI Punjab). He has a reputation of explosive batting but the Aussie couldn't hit a single six in the entire IPL 2020.

It looks like Maxwell has come for redemption this season. Twitterati made memes on the Australian batsman but not to mock him this time, for a change.

Maxwell's knock of 41-ball 59 did come in handy for RCB as they went on to win the match by 6 runs. He was awarded the Player of the Match for his performance.
