While lauding Glenn Maxwell’s performance for RCB, former Australian pacer Brett Lee said that batting with Virat Kohli has been a great asset for him.

“Playing in new colours, I believe, has really helped Maxwell this season. As far as the 2 games are concerned, he has batted with Kohli a fair bit. I think Kohli been a great asset for him,” Brett Lee said on Star Sports.

Lee said that Glenn Maxwell has displayed very good temperament and started the tournament so well.

“He brings his concentration back in the play. He brings the heart rate down. He (Kohli) is a good ally next to him. He displayed very good temperament and started the tournament so well,” he said.

While talking about the same, former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir said it’s good for RCB that Maxwell has started the tournament well because they have invested a lot in him.

“It was important for RCB. They put a lot of money and lot of faith in him. He had to deliver. Good that he has started the tournament very well. He is continuing from that first innings,” Gautam Gambhir said.

Gambhir further lauded Maxwell for showing great temperament against Rashid Khan and for batting till the end.

“It was a very important innings (against SRH). it was an easy wicket, especially against Rashid Khan. He was very smart as well. He didn’t take any risk against Rashid. And the most important thing, he stayed till the end,” he said.

Glenn Maxwell was awarded Man of the Match for his knock against SRH.

RCB will next play Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on 18th April. The Virat Kohli-led side will look to continue their winning momentum and register their third win on trot.
