Australian speedster Riley Meredith revealed that he has been a big fan of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and has been closely following the T20 league for the last few years and now he is thrilled with the fact that he is finally going to feature in the world’s biggest T20 tournament.

The pacer would certainly get a valuable experience through his stint with the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the ongoing IPL 14 that can probably help him to find a way to earn a spot in the Australia squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2021 to be held in India in October-November this year.

Meredith told Sports Today on Monday, “Yeah, obviously, very exciting to come over here and finally be a part of IPL. I have been such a big fan of the IPL for the last few years and I have watching it really closely and watching the best players in the world go about it.”

The 24-year-old is coming with an impressive BBL 10 campaign in Australia, where he bowled majorly in the initial powerplay and at the death overs and scalped 16 wickets at an economy rate of 7.82 and he is looking to do the same for the PBKS in the IPL 2021.

Meredith signed off by saying, “I think I will do what I always do, bring in my aggression and try and bowl fast and take wickets throughout the innings. Not a lot of changes would have to adapt to the pitches and I am sure it will be fine.”

Noteworthy, PBKS is all set to kick start their IPL 2021 campaign against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Monday (April 12) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
