The 2020 edition of IPL was quite unique as it happened during a pandemic as well as three franchises Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) ended up with 14 points but the Kolkata based franchise could not qualify due to an inferior net run-rate.

While talking to KKR batsman Shubman Gill about missing playoffs due to net run-rate, he said, “Missing qualification on net run rate, by the barest of margins, always hurts. But there is always room for improvement. And that's what we will try to do this year and not leave it to the net run rate.

IPL 2021: "He wants to take the game on and is really relaxed," Cummins lauds Shubman Gill

The right-hand batsman who looked really good in the away Test series against Australia and the home series against England feels that he has trained enough for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021).

You get to practice before any tournament starts, that's where you kind of adjust. You get enough time in practice sessions and match simulation, practice matches. So that is enough time to adjust,Gill told The National.

As the 21-year-old has been playing cricket after the last IPL, he feels it will only give him confidence in this tournament.

The way I see it, it has been a good six, seven months. The last time I played IPL, and after that, I have played plenty of cricket which has given me a lot of confidence,” he added.

The KKR batsman will be in action tonight (11 April) as they take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
