Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag took to his Twitter account and said that Indian Premier League (IPL) logo has been secretly designed for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) wicketkeeper-batsman AB de Villiers.

AB de Villiers' blistering 27-ball 48 helped RCB register their first win of the season against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the tournament opener at Chennai.

Coming out to bat at no. 5 the South African rescued Virat Kohli led side once again who were in a spot of bother after losing their skipper and new signing Glenn Maxwell.

De Villiers came to bat when RCB needed 62 runs off 45 balls. The veteran-batsman held one end while wickets tumbling were at the other. He kept his calm and played some stunning shots to almost seal the match before he was run out on the fourth delivery of the final over.

RCB however, managed to pull off the chase and and won their first-ever tournament opener after suffering losses in the 2008, 2017 and 2019 editions.

While lauding AB de Villiers for his heroics, former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag tweeted that IPL logo is secretly designed after the South African.

"Will power = De villiers Power. Defeats all power. No wonder the @IPL logo is secretly designed after @ABdevilliers17. Champion knock. But Patel Bhai ke raaz mein , RCB bowling mazaa aaya. Top spell 5/27. Is saal cup aande , no vaandey," Virender Sehwag Tweeted.
