Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) new recruit Kyle Jamieson smashed Krunal Pandya’s bat into two pieces during the first match of IPL 2021 against defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI).

Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Mumbai Indians by two wickets in a nail-biting thriller at Chennai.

Opting to bowl first, RCB on account of Harshal Patel’s 5 for 27 restricted MI to a total of 159/9 in their quota of 20-overs. Chasing the target, the Virat Kohli-led side strumbled as they were reduced from 98/3 to 122/6 in quick succession of time.

However, AB de Villiers led the rescue charge as he played a brilliant knock of 48 off 27 balls to help RCB register their first victory of the tournament.

One of the biggest positives for RCB was their bowling. Their new recruit Kyle Jamieson also had a good outing as he picked up one wicket while giving away 27 runs in four overs.

During the course of his spell an incident took place where he broke Krunal Pandya's bat with a full delivery.

Jamieson uncorked a beaming yorker which senior Pandya tried to swung at but only found the handle of the bat in his hand in the follow-through. The rest of the willow fell off behind the wickets.
