Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have started their IPL 2021 campaign with a win against the defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) on Friday (April 9). They chased down the target of 160 on the last ball of their innings and sealed the match by 2 wickets.

While the match was approaching towards the end, RCB and Punjab Kings (PBKS) engaged in banter on Twitter. It was Glenn Maxwell's 28-ball 39 runs knock which made RCB post a cheeky tweet tagging PBKS.

Maxwell was released by Punjab after a horrific season with the bat last year and Bangalore thanked them for letting him go. "First Maxi-mum in Red and Gold and he nearly hits it out of Chennai! Thank you @PunjabKingsIPL. We would hug you if not for social distancing," they wrote.

PBKS camp up with a hilarious reply and mentioned the players RCB had released and they bought them in the auction. "Aww and thank you for Gayle, KL, Mandy, Sarfaraz, Mayank... ???? #SaddaPunjab #IPL2021 #PunjabKings," the reply read.

They didn't stop here, Bangalore went on to tweet about PBKS' new jersey for this season which almost looks like RCB's old kit. They responded, "You missed jersey, helmet, pads...and logo? But between us, who's keeping count?".

Punjab ended the thread by sarcastically thanking RCB for inventing colors and also congratulated RCB for the victory. "Yes, thank you for inventing colors, And congrats on the win," they wrote.

KL Rahul-led Punjab Kings will play their first match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on April 12 at the Wankhede Stadium.
