Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) ace pacer Pat Cummins said that he likes the way his teammate Shubman Gill stays relaxed while taking the game on.

Shubman Gill was one of the main architects behind Team India’s triumph over Australia down under in January this year. The right-handed batsman impressed everyone with his stroke-play in his debut Test match at MCG where he scored 45 & 35* and followed it up an elegant fifty at SCG.

However, Shubman Gill came into the limelight once again as he played another stylish inning and scored 91 runs in the series decider at Gabba. He scored all around the ground ensured that he set up a platform for India's heavy-hitters to do the job later on in the day.

Apart from his heroics in Test cricket during his debut series, the 21-year-old was also the leading run-scorer for KKR in IPL 2020 as he scored 440 runs at a decent strike rate of 117.96 in the 14 matches he played.

While talking about Shubman Gill, KKR pacer Pat Cummins said that right-handed batsman wants to take the game on and is really relaxed and added that it’s good fun to be with him.

“He’s good, he’s young. He wants to take the game on and is really relaxed. He doesn’t take cricket or life too seriously. So it’s good fun to be with him,” Pat Cummins said in an Instagram live by KKR

Cummins while praising Gill for his Test debut against Australia down under said that he felt happy that the latter had a great start to his Test career.

“I get along really well with Shubman. It was a great debut for him last summer in Australia. We had some good contests out in the field. I really feel happy for him, he had a great start to his Test career,” he said.

Pat Cummins said that he’s looking forward to playing for KKR this season and will miss crowds in the stands. He added that they will try their best for their fans to win the IPL title.

“Just looking forward to playing for you guys this season. I know, unfortunately, we’re not going to get up to Kolkata and see you in person but yeah give us all the love on social media.

“We see it all and we absolutely love it, and we’ll be trying our best for you, so stick with us and yeah hopefully see you all soon,” he concluded.

Both Shubman Gill and Pat Cummins will be seen in action in KKR’s first match of IPL 14 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on 11th April in Chennai.
