England all-rounder Moeen Ali has requested his IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) management to remove a specific sponsor logo from his jersey due to his religious belief.

Ali is practicing Islam and his religion doesn't allow consumption or promotion of alcohol. Along with him, other Muslim players have also objected to the use of alcohol brand logos on their jerseys, whether it's a club or national team.

Super Kings jersey has the logo of SNJ 10000, a surrogate product brand of Chennai-based SNJ Distilleries. The CSK management has agreed to Ali's request and there will be no logo of SNJ 10000 on his match jersey.

The 33-year-old is the latest buy of CSK in the recent auction for INR 7 crore. He was part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise before getting released from there.

Speaking on CSK's official website, Ali had expressed his excitement to play under the leadership of MS Dhoni. "I've spoken to players who have played under MS and they tell me how he improves their game. I believe a great captain does that," he said.

"I think it's something on every player's wish list to play under MS. I think it's the confidence and the clarity he gives people. It's exciting," he added.
