Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder Andre Russell seems to be in a destructive mode ahead of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The same was evident in a video posted by KKR on Twitter, where a blistering shot by Russell leaves his non-striking partner Dinesh Karthik falling to the ground in taking evasive action.

The incident happed during KKR’s intra-squad practice match at the DY Patil Stadium on Saturday (April 3).

In the 13-second video, Russell can be seen using his brute force to strike the ball straight down ground. The power behind the shot gives Karthik a very little time to react. However, the former KKR skipper manages to save himself narrowly but only after falling down on his knees.

Here’s the video:

As far as the details of the intra-squad practice match are concerned – Shubman Gill’s team batted first and posted 175, with Karthik slamming 90. In reply, Ben Cutting’s team overhauled the target with seven balls to spare.

KKR will begin their IPL 2021 campaign against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 11 in Chennai.
