IPL 2021: Irfan Pathan unhappy with players pulling out so close to the IPL 14

Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan took to his Twitter handle and questioned players’ decision to pull out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 days before the start of the season.

The most lucrative T20 league is all set to return to India after a pit stop in UAE in 2020. IPL 14 will kick start from 9th April at Chennai. 

However, with only one week remaining for the cash-rich league, players of all the franchises have joined the training camps of their respective franchises while some have opted out of the tournament just days before the start of league. 

On Thursday (1st April), Chennai Super Kings (CSK)  pacer Josh Hazlewood became the latest player to pull out of IPL 2021. The 30-year-old cited bio-bubble fatigue as the reason behind his decision to pull out of the cash-rich league.

The other two being Josh Philippe of RCB and Mitchell Marsh of SRH, who opted out due to personal reasons on Wednesday (31st March) and was replaced by star English opener Jason Roy. 

Addressing the same former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan took to his Twitter handle and questioned players’ decision to pull out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 days before the start of the season.

"I'm all for mental fatigue,It's real but pulling out so close to the tournament? #IPL2021," Irfan Pathan Tweeted. 

Defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) will take Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the first match of IPL 2021. Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and New Delhi will be the 5 cities along with Ahmedabad hosting the 14th edition of cash-rich league.
