IPL franchises react hilariously to WhatsApp and Instagram service going down

Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises were quick to post on Twitter after Facebook-owned social media applications WhatsApp and Instagram faced technical issues for around half-an-hour all over the world on Friday (March 19).

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) posted a meme featuring their mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy. Chakravarthy can be seen surprised in the picture and KKR captioned it, "Mood when you find out WhatsApp and Instagram both are down".

Delhi Capitals (DC) were looking for an IPL team to chat with them on Twitter after WhatsApp and Instagram were down. "Any IPL team online? Let's talk Crying face #WhatsappDown #InstagramDown".

Earlier on Friday (March 19), DC revealed their new jersey for the upcoming IPL 2021 season. They are the runner-up of the last edition.

Rajasthan Royals tagged the official Twitter account of WhatsApp and asked if they are alright. They also posted a morphed picture of messages to WhatsApp. 

Services on WhatsApp and Instagram were restored at around 11:42 IST. Between 11 pm and 11:40 pm, Downdetector showed around 1.2 million reports for Instagram, while over 23,000 users posted about issues with WhatsApp on the website.
