Former Australia captain and Delhi Capitals (DC) coach Ricky Ponting is eager for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) edition after the schedule was announced by the BCCI on March 7.
IPL 2021 will take place in India and the tournament is starting on April 9, with the opening match between defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Delhi will start their campaign with a face-off against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on April 10.
Ponting can't wait to start working with DC again this season. Last year, they managed to reach the final but lost against Mumbai. He tagged Rishabh Pant, R Ashwin, and Akshar Patel in his tweet hoping they would repeat their performance from the recently-concluded Test series against England.

“Can't wait to get over to @delhicapitals and get to work,” he tweeted. “Hope @akshar2026 and @ashwinravi99 have some wickets left after taking all of them in the last month, and @rishabhpant17 has more runs to make!”, Ponting added.
Pant and Patel responded to coach Ponting's tweet and they are also excited to catch up with him in the DC camp. “See you soon, coach,” wrote the left-arm spinner, while Pant replied, “Hahhahaha waiting for you Rick."
