Arjun Tendulkar, who is the son of the Indian batting great Sachin Tendulkar, after being picked by five-time champions Mumbai Indians thanked the franchise for picking him up in the IPL Auction 2021 and said that he is a die-hard fan of Mumbai Indians since his childhood. 

Arjun Tendulkar was among the Mumbai Indians' net bowlers during Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 which took place in UAE. 

Arjun was the last player to be picked during the accelerated part of the IPL 2021 auction on Thursday. The young all-rounder was bought by the defending IPL champions Mumbai Indians for Rs 20 lakh and was the only team to bid for Arjun.

Notably, the 21-year old left-arm pacer also made his senior debut for Mumbai during the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and picked up two wickets at an economy of 9.57.

Weighing his selection in the Mumbai Indians squad, Arjun Tendulkar while thanking the coaching, owners, and support staff for showing faith in him said that since his childhood he has been a die-hard fan of the Mumbai based franchise. 

"Since childhood, I have been a die-hard fan of Mumbai Indians. I would like to thank the coaches, owners and the support staff for showing faith in me. I can't wait to put on the blue and gold (jersey)," Arjun Tendulkar said in a video message after the IPL 2021 auction.
