IPL 2021: WATCH - Cheteshwar Pujara eager to play under MS Dhoni after being bought by CSK

Chennai Super Kings bid for Pujara and got him at his base price of INR 50 Lakh.

India cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara will be playing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 for Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Pujara was sold to CSK in the IPL 2021 auction on Thursday (February 18) at his base price of Rs. 50 Lakh.

After being roped in by CSK, Pujara showed excitement to play along with MS Dhoni, under whom he made his debut in international cricket. CSK shared a video on Twitter featuring Pujara and his daughter after the auction.

Pujara, in the video, said he will switch his mindset from Test format to T20 while going into the IPL. "Great to be back in the IPL. Really looking forward to play in the yellow jersey. I'll be playing with Dhoni bhai again and he was the captain of the team when I made my debut and I have fond memories of playing under Mahi bhai and really looking forward to play with him again," he said.

"Talking about the IPL, I think it is a change of mindset switching from the Test format to the IPL and you just need to switch the gears as early as possible. So, I feel it is the mental aspect which changes quickly with good preparation I am really hopeful that I'll do well in the IPL," he added. 

Pujara last played IPL back in 2014 for Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings). He has featured in overall 30 matches in the cash-rich league.
