Tamil Nadu batsman Shahrukh Khan was picked by Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the IPL 2021 auction for Rs. 5.25 crore on Thursday (February 18). The uncapped player had a base price of Rs. 20 lakh.
Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Punjab Kings all made bids for him, but in the end, the winning bid was made by the Preity Zinta-owned franchise.
The success of Shahrukh was celebrated by his Tamil Nadu teammates. The team's captain Dinesh Karthik shared a video clip from the team bus.

They were following the live auction on their mobile phone and Shahrukh can also be seen in the video. As soon as bidding for him started, the whole squad cheered up for their teammate.

Shahrukh will be soon seen playing in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021. Tamil Nadu have all their group stage matches in Indore.
The 25-year-old had smashed 40* off just 19 balls to help his side chase down 136 in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021 quarter-final against Himachal Pradesh. They were five down at 66 at one stage. His knock included five fours and two sixes. This innings made him an attraction in the auction.
