Arjun Tendulkar is going to feature in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the first time. He was bought by Mumbai Indians (MI) at his base price of Rs 20 Lakh in the IPL 2021 auction.
The 21-year-old wasn't one of the biggest attractions in the auction for the franchises, as no other team bid for him apart from MI. However, there was a lot of talk going around among the fans for the Mumbai cricketer as he registered his name in the auction.
Recently, Arjun was part of the Mumbai squad in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy 2021. He played two matches and picked up overall two wickets.
Apart from junior Tendulkar, the five-time IPL champions bought Yudhvir Charak, who was a support player of the team earlier, at Rs. 20 Lakh.
Before coming to the auction, MI had 7 slots available with a purse of Rs. 15.35 crore. They have completed their 25-man squad and now their remaining fund is Rs. 3.65 crore.
MI's buys in IPL 2021 auction: Nathan Coulter Nile (5 crore), Adam Milne (3.2 crore), Piyush Chawla (2.4 crore), James Neesham (50 lakh), Yudhvir Charak (20 lakh), Marco Jansen (20 lakh), Arjun Tendulkar (20 lakh)
