IPL 2021 Auction: RCB buys Dan Christian; DC rope in Sam Billings; Kedar Jadhav sold to SRH

The IPL 2021 auction happened in Chennai on Feb 18.

Kedar Jadhav, Dan Christian and Sam BillingsThe IPL 2021 auction served out quite a few surprises so far. Chris Morris created history when he became the most expensive player in IPL history when Rajasthan Royals bought him for INR 16.25 crores, beating Yuvraj Singh’s record of 16 cr bid.

As the purse amount dwindled for all franchises, they got busy with buying up backups for their main players and filling up the squad. This led to Sunrisers Hyderabad bidding for Kedar Jadhav, as he was bought for his base price of INR 2 crores.

Delhi Capitals also got a backup for their wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant, as they successfully bid for England’s Sam Billings who was bought for his base price of INR 2 Cr.

A bit of a surprise came in form of Daniel Christian, the Australian all-rounder, who got a small bidding war going for him, as Royal Challengers Bangalore emptied their purse and bought him for INR 4.80 Crs, a lot higher than his base price of 75 lakhs.
