IPL 2021 Auction: Cheteshwar Pujara finds bidder in the auction for first time since 2014

Pujara last played IPL in the 2014 season for Punjab.

Fierce bidding war happened for players such as Glenn Maxwell, Chris Morris and Jhye Richardson in the first few sets, with all of them fetching over INR 10 crore.

In the 11th set, Cheteshwar Pujara grabbed the headlines as he found a bidder for the first time since IPL 2014.

Pujara, who entered into the auction with a base price of 50 lakh, was roped in by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the same amount.

Cheteshwar Pujara last played IPL in the 2014 season for Punjab Kings (then Kings XI Punjab). He was continuously overlooked by franchises over the years for having the tag of a Test specialist.

Pujara has previously also tuned up for KKR and RCB. In 30 IPL games, the right-hander has scored 390 runs at a strike-rate of 99.74 with one half-century.
