Harbhajan entered into the auction with a base price of 2 Crore.

Harbhajan Singh | BCCI/IPLThe much-anticipated IPL auction for the 2021 season is taking place in Chennai on Thursday (February 18).

As many as 291 players are going under the hammer for 61 vacant slots as all eight franchises look to fine-tune their squads for the one final time before the league's 14th edition.

In the 5th set, veteran India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh going unsold was the talking point.

After being released by Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Harbhajan entered into the auction with a base price of 2 Crore but he didn’t manage to attract any bidder this time around.

Harbhajan was roped in by CSK for INR 2 crore at the IPL 2018 auction after his association with Mumbai Indians for 10 years. He represented the Chennai-based franchise in 24 games and claimed 23 wickets.

Harbhajan had opted out of the 2020 edition of IPL, which was held in UAE, due to personal reasons.

Overall, Harbhajan has featured in 160 IPL games, taking 150 wickets at an economy rate of 7.05 with one five-wicket haul.
