Bangladesh's experienced batsman Mushfiqur Rahim has decided not to enter the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 auction. Rahim, who has played 86 T20Is for his country, couldn't feature in an IPL season ever.
The 33-year-old had put his name in the all last 13 IPL auctions but remained unsold every time. No franchise showed interest in the veteran wicket-keeper batsman.
For the first time, Rahim hasn't registered for the upcoming IPL mini-auction, confirmed by NIBCO, the company which manages Rahim's account.

Talking to New Age on Saturday, NIBCO said Rahim won't go into the auction this year. "We have not made any submission for Mushfiqur Rahim for IPL this time," said an official from NIBCO.
Five Bangladesh players have registered for the IPL 2021 auction. Shakib Al Hasan, who was a regular feature in IPL, will be available in IPL 2021. He had missed out last season after being banned by the ICC for a year for failing to report the bookie approach.
Apart from Shakib, Mustafizur Rahman, Soumya Sarkar, Liton Das, and Mahmudullah are the Bangladeshi names in the auction list which has around 1,100 cricketers registered.
