Just after the teams unveiled the list of their retained and released players for the IPL 2021, former Indian batsman Akash Chopra predicted that ace Australian pacer Mitchell Starc may become the most expensive IPL purchase ever.
The auction for the IPL 2021 is scheduled to happen in February and all eyes will be on the Australian, who had previously played IPL for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Mitchell Starc, who made himself unavailable for the IPL 2020 to prepare for the now-postponed T20 World Cup, earlier said that he will take part in the IPL 2021. Chopra feels that teams will go all out to buy Starc, given his speed, experience, and ability to bowl yorkers.

Akash Chopra, 43, further said that young Afghani spinner, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, who was released by Kings XI Punjab can grab around Rs 7 to 8 crore while explosive English opener Jason Roy, who was a part of Delhi Capitals in IPL 2020 can fetch around 4-6 crore.
Cricketer-turned-commentator, Akash Chopra, feels that released Australian stars Glenn Maxwell and Nathan Coulter-Nile can bag decent contracts.
The former Delhi batsman also expressed a lot of confidence in Australian all-rounder, Cameron Green, who impressed everyone with his hitting abilities in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy, and New Zealand's 6 feet 7-inch tall pacer, Kyle Jamieson.
"Jamieson to receive solid interest. 5-7 crore. Green for 5-6 crore," Aakash Chopra predicted.
