Former India cricketer and ex-Kings XI Punjab mentor Virender Sehwag has slammed Glenn Maxwell for a flop IPL 2020 with the bat. Maxwell had a terrible outing and could only score 108 runs with a strike-rate of 101.88 in 13 innings.

Australia cricketer's contribution could have changed the fate of his side as they lost few close matches while chasing. KXIP failed to qualify for the IPL 13 playoffs because of just 2 wins.

Sehwag called Maxwell a "10 crore cheerleader" and said, "Glenn Maxwell. This 10-crore cheerleader proved costly for Punjab. And he has had a bad record of shirking work over the past few seasons. But this season he went to new extremes."

"This is what you call a highly-paid vacation," he added.

Sehwag also went on to criticize South Africa pacer Dale Steyn for not living up to his name. "There was a time when everyone was afraid of the Steyn Gun. But this season the Steyn Gun didn't show up. Instead, we got a homemade pipe gun (desi Katta)," he said.

Steyn got to play only three matches and Royal Challengers Bangalore had to sit him out after an unimpressive show. He conceded at 11.40 runs per over and picked just one wicket in three matches.
