After Mumbai Indians wrapped up another successful IPL 2020 campaign, Kieron Pollard has made the most of his IPL franchise’s record fifth title triumph to take a light-hearted jibe at Chennai Super Kings all-rounder and his fellow West Indian Dwayne Bravo.

On Tuesday, November 10, Mumbai thrashed Delhi Capitals by five wickets in the final to win their 5th IPL at Dubai International Stadium and further strengthened their reputation of being the most successful franchise in the history of India T20 league.

With the record title triumph, Mumbai broke their odd-year jinx and became just the second team ever to defend their IPL title after Chennai who did it by winning the IPL in 2010 and 2011.

After MI lift their fifth IPL crown in Dubai, Pollard poked fun at Bravo by teasing his buddy that he is now behind him in terms of the number of T20 titles won around the world.

Notably, Pollard and Bravo were part of some of the most animated moments during the IPL but remain good friends off the field but when it comes to on-field banter both never misses a single chance to get the batter of each other, and MI star did the same after Tuesday’s win.

As Pollard won his 15th T20 title in Dubai, the all-rounder has hilariously convened the message to Bravo that he is now behind him in the trophy tally – who is second with 14 followed by Shoaib Malik (12), Rohit Sharma (10), and Lasith Malinga (9).

Speaking on the sidelines after IPL 2020 final, Pollard said: “Dwayne Bravo you are behind me now (about the number of T20 titles), I have to say that on camera.”

He also termed Mumbai Indians as the best T20 team across the world and given credit to the team management for the great atmosphere both on and off the field after another successful IPL season.

Windies T20 captain further said: “It's a great feeling. I've been here 11 years, the fifth trophy. No one sees the planning and training, it's pressure playing for a franchise like this.”

Pollard signed off by saying, “The number of trophies, the amount of work, the number of players who go on to play for their countries, I think we'll have to say so [that this is the best T20 franchise]. Kudos to the owners and management. Long may that continue.”
