Mumbai Indians (MI) stalwart, Kieron Pollard, looked forward to the summit-clash on Tuesday (November 10) in Dubai versus the Delhi Capitals (DC), saying the IPL final is the "biggest thing" after the World Cup final. 

In a video posted over Twitter by MI ahead of the marquee fixture, Pollard, who has been brilliant for his team again as an all-rounder and vice-captain, emphasized the importance of the fixture.

"The name of the game is pressure, in a final. Everyone takes that pressure. You want to win and not commit a mistake, but at the end of the day, you have to try to take the finals as a normal game. Just go out there, enjoy yourself and the atmosphere," Pollard said. 

"Obviously, no crowds in this final, but enjoy the magnitude of it. It's is an IPL final, it's the biggest thing after the World Cup final," he added. 

Having donned the crown in 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019 seasons, MI are eyeing their fifth IPL title. The team will also be buoyed by their form this year, having flexed their muscles to top the league stage points table and then sailing through to the final. The Rohit Sharma-led unit had steamrolled DC in all their three previous encounters of the tournament. 

While there are all the reasons to be optimistic, head coach Mahela Jayawardena thinks it's important to not let any complacency creep into their system. 

"It's another game of cricket, we are not thinking too far ahead, as long as we go through the processes and execute our skills, it's a contest between bat and ball, runs and wickets, so try and enjoy this contest," said the former Sri Lanka captain.  

"I just want the guys to go out there and enjoy the atmosphere. There are quite a few guys in our team who have been there and done that before so they know what they need to do," he added.
