IPL 2020: "Your support gave us the strength to fight", Rashid thanks fans after SRH's elimination

Rashid was integral to SRH's run till the Qualifier 2 where they sadly lost to DC in Abu Dhabi.

Rashid Khan | Twitter/Sunrisers Hyderabad As Sunrisers Hyderabad's (SRH) hopes of lifting their second IPL trophy vanished, premier wrist-spinner Rashid Khan thanked the team's fans for their unwavering support through the thick and thins of the campaign in UAE.

SRH, who had won just 4 of their first 11 matches, pulled off four victories on the trot to reach the Qualifier 2. But a painful 17-run loss there on Sunday (November 8) to Delhi Capitals (DC) in Abu Dhabi ended their title dream.

Nevertheless, with the team punching above their weight again, there were quite a few positives for them to carry forward to the next season, which is only six months away in a rejigged cricketing calendar amid COVID-19 pandemic.

"Thank you to each and everyone that supported me and @SunRisers throughout this #Dream11IPL2020 season," tweeted Rashid.

"The #OrangeArmy has always been on our side through good times and bad and your support gave us the strength to fight! Thank you. Until next time," added the Afghanistan spinner, who had another outstanding season of IPL.

The 22-year-old remained an unsolved mystery for most of the IPL batsmen as he took 20 wickets in 16 innings while going at only 5.37 runs per over.

Rashid will now be seen in action for his country at the highest level during the winter before he returns to SRH camp for IPL 2021.
