Sanjay Manjrekar often becomes an easy target on Twitter for his opinion on cricket. The cricketer-turned-commentator decided to shut down a Twitter user with his befitting reply after his tweet got misunderstood.

Manjrekar opined a better way to decide the Man of the Match in a game. He felt the one who makes more impact in the win should be picked for the award, and for that, we should look at the first innings once the match gets over. It will help us observe who won the match for his team, the batters or bowlers.

Sharing his thought with Twitterati during Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI) match, he wrote, "When adjudicating the MOM award one must look at how the game was placed at the halfway stage, MI had almost sealed the game with their batting. So the match-winning impact was made by batsmen. With due respect to Boult & Bumrah, MOM should have been a batsman."

A Twitter user disagreed with his opinion and after the second Qualifier between DC and Sunrisers Hyderabad, he asked Manjrekar if they should give Shikhar Dhawan the Man of the Match award? "@sanjaymanjrekar shall we give the man of the match award to Shikhar Dhawan already?", tweeted the user.

Manjrekar didn't like the response and felt the user couldn't crack his tweet. "Gotta explain my thoughts to some people like teacher to kids in primary school. I meant AFTER THE MATCH IS OVER, look at halfway stage to see how match was poised you get a good idea if batsmen or bowlers won them the game eventually."

Dhawan was the top scorer for Delhi with 78* off 50 deliveries as they qualified for the final after beating SRH by 17 runs. It was Marcus Stoinis who got picked as the Man of the Match for his 27-ball 38 and 3 wickets with the ball.
