IPL 2020: Cricket fraternity reacts as DC beat SRH by 17 runs to secure final berth

Stoinis produced a brilliant all-round showing in Qualifier 2 against SRH | IPL/BCCIDelhi Capitals (DC) faced Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the second qualifier of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday (November 8).

Opting to bat first, DC piled up a massive 189/3 in 20 overs on the back of Shikhar Dhawan’s 50-ball 78. Shimron Hetmyer (42 not out off 22 balls) and Marcus Stoinis (38 off 27 balls) also made significant contributions with the bat.

Rashid Khan was the stand-out bowler for Sunrisers, claiming 1 wicket by conceding only 26 runs in his four overs.

In reply, SRH fell 17 runs short of the target. Apart from Kane Williamson (67 off 45 balls), none of them in the line-up managed to touch the 35-run mark.

For the Capitals, Kagiso Rabada (4-29) and Stoinis (3-26) bowled remarkably well and shared 7 wickets between them.

With this victory, Delhi Capitals secured their final berth and will face the Rohit-Sharma led Mumbai Indians (MI) in the summit clash on November 10.

Cricket experts lauded Stoinis’ all-round brilliance and Rabada’s stunning spell in Delhi’s impressive win over SRH.
