AB de Villiers turned up as the best batsman for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in IPL 2020. He is the third-highest scorer in the team, only 19 behind the top scorer Devdutt Padikkal. But when you see the combination of runs, average, and strike-rate, De Villiers is ahead of Devdutt and Virat Kohli.
While De Villiers has scored 454 runs with a strike-rate of 158.74, Devdutt managed 473 with a strike-rate of just 124.80, and Kohli striking at 121.35 for his 466 runs. But when RCB was criticized after getting knocked out of IPL 2020, Boria Majumdar, a senior sports journalist, slammed the South African batsman.
Boria refused to call De Villiers a match-winner and said he couldn't make RCB win a single title despite being with the franchise for 10 years. It was unfair of him to target the 36-year-old. His comments infuriated the fans on social media and he was lambasted by the fans.

Even in the Eliminator against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Friday, De Villiers stood alone and smashed a half-century, but he couldn't finish the innings. Eventually, SRH won the match by 6 wickets.
