With this victory, SRH set up a clash against Delhi Capitals (DC) in Qualifier 2 while RCB got knocked out of the tournament.

Apart from Sunrisers’ dominance, the match grabbed the headlines for a controversial decision, involving the third umpire.

In the 6th over of SRH's innings, a ball that came back in from Mohammed Siraj went past David Warner's bat and gloves. RCB players, certain of a faint edge, made a huge caught behind appeal but the on-field umpire gave him not out.

As RCB skipper Virat Kohli challenged the decision, third umpire overturned the on-field call after examining the reply from all possible angles.

Warner was visibly upset with the third umpire's decision and walked back to the pavilion shaking his head.

Soon after his dismissal, former New Zealand cricketer Scott Styris took to Twitter and lashed out at the third umpire for overturning the on-field call without any conclusive evidence.

"Incredible decision from the 3rd umpire. David Warner every reason to blow up. Original decision not out and never conclusive evidence to overturn," he tweeted.

Styris' compatriot Simon Doull, however, was convinced that the ball touched Warner's gloves as he replied to the post: “What game and replays are you watching..!! Clearly off the glove..”

In response, Styris further wrote: "The one where he was given not out. The one where it has to be conclusive to overturn. The one where he said it hit my leg as he walked off. The key is CONCLUSIVE to overturn."
